The United Kingdom may not be famous for its surfing contests, but Citroen wants consumers to discover the “adventurous and fun nature of the car” with a new TV advert for the C4 Cactus Rip Curl.

Set to hit the screens locally on July 30, the spot depicts only can be referred to as daytime dreaming, showing professional surfer Vincent Duvignac catch imaginary waves in the urban environment, and it comes almost two months after the special edition was launched in Europe’s right-hand drive market.

Part of promoting the compact model, Citroen will give consumers the chance to “get closer to the action” next month, when a special auction will be hosted on eBay, which will give participants the chance to own one of the unique surfboards designed to showcase the catchy C4 Cactus; proceeds will benefit The Wave Project, a charity that uses surfing as therapy for young people.

In case you need a reminder, the Citroen C4 Cactus Rip Curl builds upon the Flair grade with its special exterior graphics, bumper protectors on both ends, 17-inch alloy wheels covered in Goodyear 4 seasons mud and snow rubber, and starts from £18,480 ($24,360). It also features a generous list of standard equipment that includes automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, automatic air conditioning, satellite navigation system, reverse camera and cruise control.
