Given its promised performance and exclusivity, it seems probable that when the Bugatti Chiron arrives, interest in the Veyron will subside. The effect on the resale value of Veyron’s remains unclear, but one could do a lot worse than picking up the Grand Sport, the rarer of the two body styles offered.

One particularly stunning Veyron Grand Sport finished in a stylish shade of white will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s next month in Monterey. Thanks to its simple yet appealing configuration, it could create quite a lot of interest among investors and enthusiasts alike.

This particular Grand Sport is a 2012 example and while it isn’t the record-holding Grand Sport Vitesse , it is capable of out-accelerating almost any production car ever conceived. As with all Veyron models, it achieves its immense speeds in the most refined way possible, offering up a luxurious interior and plush ride with the sheer brute force of its quad-turbo W16. Add in the open-top experience of the Grand Sport and you have one of the best all-round hypercars produced.

Originally, this example was a North American promotional vehicle for the French marque and is just the 54th of 150 drop-top Veyron’s built. Despite its promotional duties, it only has 1,100 miles on the clock.
