Whether it’s living life large in Barbados (Lewis Hamilton…) or exploring Los Angeles like Daniel Ricciardo, this season’s Formula One drivers are certainly making the most of their summer break.
To give us a look at what he’s has been up to, Ricciardo teamed up with Donut Media for a day of driving through LA in some truly wild creations to see what the start-studded city offers up for those whose body’s run off oil, not blood.
The always-smiling Red Bull Racing driver first sampled what East LA is all about, jumping into the seat of a bright pink and blue lowrider rolling on a set of hydraulics and massive chrome wheels. One of the quintessential aspects of the local car scene, lowriders are all about style, something entirely different to the performance-focused cars Ricciardo is used to racing.
For a cruise through Beverly Hills and along the famed Rodeo Drive, it was time to test out a custom hotrod complete with a flaming livery and looking right at home cruising along the city’s iconic streets.
Before the day ended, a drive through the mountain roads of Malibu was needed, giving Ricciardo the chance to show off his driving skills behind the wheel of an Aston Martin Vanquish.
