In the world of supercars, no engine sounds quite like a V10. Whether its a 10-cylinder beast produced by Lamborghini or one from Porsche, the sound of a V10 is unmistakable and arguably, two of the greatest ever come from opposite sides of the world.

In one corner is the high-revving naturally-aspirated 4.8-liter V10 of the Lexus LFA. Capable of revving so quickly that it requires a digital tachometer, the LFA’s engine is quite possibly the greatest of any road car from Japan. At high revs, it emits a wail only comparable to a Formula 1 car, before turbochargers killed the sport of course.

Alongside the LFA, the Porsche Carrera GT is fitted with one of the finest V10s in history. Displacing 5.7-liters, it is derived from motorsport and unlike the LFA’s, is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

Both sound extraordinary but which is best? Find out in the video after the jump.
