The BMW X4 has become the brand’s sixth model to be produced in Brazil, after the first example has just rolled off the assembly lines at the Araquari plant, in Santa Catarina.

Part of a €256 million ($288 million)investment, the SAC manufactured is the xDrive28i X Line, which carries a suggested price tag of BRL 299,950 ($93,850) and uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine rated at 245 HP.

The arrival of the BMW X4 to the Araquari production line is the result of our commitment to global quality standards of the BMW Group and are fully in line with the group’s factories in the United States, Egypt, Russia, Thailand and Malaysia, countries where the SAV is also produced“, said Carsten Stocker, one of the brand’s local execs.

By producing the X4 at the Brazilian factory that covers a total area of 1.5 million square meters and has the capacity to assemble up to 32,000 cars annually, the automaker is expecting the model’s sales to reach 45 units per month by the end of this year, meaning a 50 percent increase over the imported version.
