There’s definitely no shortage of Mercedes-Benz S-Class spy videos, but the latest one is probably the most interesting of all.

Showing a production-ready model quietly sitting around in a parking lot with the driver’s side window opened, the short footage reveals the interior of the flagship saloon, less than a week before it’s expected to shed its camouflage for the 2016 Paris Auto Show.

Taking center stage inside is the dual-screen, unified in a single sweep and identical to the one used on the latest generation E-Class. The three-spoke steering wheel features wooden inserts, in tone with the trim that flows from the dashboard to the doors, and the old rotary knob is gone, replaced by a touchpad controller, which is used to access the newer variant of the infotainment system.

Besides the usual exterior design updates, which will include different bumpers on both ends, refreshed headlights and taillights and probably new wheel patterns, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will also feature the Drive Pilot semi-autonomous system.

As for the engine lineup, nothing is known so far, but even if the automaker will not perform any changes in this chapter, remember that the sixth-generation model, which has been around for the last three years, already has a wide selection of petrol, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
