Among the most significant world premieres at the Los Angeles Auto show was certainly the latest-generation Mazda CX-5.

With styling closely mimicking that of the larger CX-9, the stylish mid-size SUV received a lot of attention and rightly so. But what could make the new CX-5 even more impressive? A high-performance MPS variant, of course!

Rendered here by X-Tomi Design, the CX-5 has been adorned with a selection of new body panels aimed at making it look distinct from the standard model and particularly sporty.

Some of the most obvious changes include the revised front bumper with a new lip spoiler, extended side skirts, a lowered ride height, a set of enlarged wheels and black front grille trim. The finished product is appealing to say the least. While it isn’t known if such a model will come to fruition, we have our fingers crossed…
