Although BMW itself has ruled out an M2 Convertible, Swiss-based tuning shop Dähler Design has taken matters into its own hands by creating just that.

Working alongside Technik, Dähler started with a standard 2-Series Convertible and then fitted it with a replica bodykit of the M2 Coupe that includes visually identical bumpers, fender flares and the same rear diffuser.

Although Dähler could have then simply upgraded the engine of a standard 2-Series Convertible to match the outputs of the M2, it didn’t. Instead, it actually found an M2 engine and installed it into the droptop and in the process, developed two performance kits for the powertrain.

The Stage 1 package increases power from the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six from 365 hp to 402 hp and 428 lb-t (580 Nm) of torque. The Stage 2 kit then delivers 419 hp and 450 lb-ft (610 Nm). Both packages send Dähler’s M2 Convertible from a standstill to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4 seconds or less.

Other modifications enjoyed by the model include adjustable coilovers and massive eight-piston front brake calipers. There’s also an M Performance steering wheel and new pedals.
