In the snow, choosing between an old performance-oriented saloon and a high ground-clearance, off-roader should be pretty straight forward.

Then again, you need to factor in weight, tires and performance, and so the second-generation Audi S6 (C5) kind of has the Lada Niva out-gunned when it comes to power and torque.

Powering the S6 C5 is a 4.2-liter V8 engine, pushing down 340 PS (335 HP) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels. With a kerb weight of just over 1,800 kg (roughly 4,000 lbs), it can also dig in pretty well during a tug of war.

Now, while this Niva seems to be packing a few after market modification, it would have to be something truly special in order to match the Audi in any way.

When stock, the Niva 4×4 only puts down a little over 80 HP, so right off the bat, it doesn’t look like much of a fair fight.
