Hennessey Performance is known for doing big things. To make The Exorcist, the tuning company took the already insane Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and turned the volume up to 11. Thanks to the time-lapse video below, you can watch a regular ZL1 be transformed into The Exorcist in roughly two minutes.

The regular Camaro ZL1 is good for 650 horsepower. The Exorcist is even more potent, with an output of 1,000 hp and 966 lb-ft of torque. To get that kind of performance out of Chevrolet’s supercharged LT4 V8, Hennessey added a bunch of upgrades to the engine, which is why the majority of the time-lapse video shows a mechanic going to work on the car’s motor.

Some of the upgraded components on the heavily-modified Camaro include: a high-flow supercharger, ported cylinder heads, a custom HPE camshaft, improved valve springs and retainers, as well as a high-flow intercooling system. Needless to say, the tuning company probably had to do a lot of dyno runs and fine-tuning to get the car to put that kind of power down.

Watching Hennessey’s team tear down the engine and slowly build it up again is mesmerizing. And the fact that only one mechanic is working on the car for the majority of the video is even more impressive.
