This horrifying yet spectacular car crash occurred on December 23rd in Jalal-Abad, Kyrgyzstan, where the driver of a red Chevrolet Aveo lost control and impacted a concrete arch right at the entrance of the city.

The footage was captured inadvertently by a drone, which was there to film a pair of newlyweds. Thankfully, the description of the video doesn’t mention any fatalities, stating just that the Aveo’s two occupants were taken to a local hospital.

As for why the driver lost control in the first place, that’s a little hard to pinpoint. It does however seem like they were driving a bit erratically (overtaking using the first lane). We also wouldn’t bet that speeding wasn’t an issue, judging by how aggressive of a slide that was.

In the end, as long as they got to walk away from this crash, the two occupants of the Chevy should consider themselves lucky. The car could have easily hit one of the concrete pillars head-on, which would have been extremely bad – that old Aveo has a one and a half star rating in terms of adult occupant protection, according to EuroNCAP.

Alas, it was the rear end that suffered most of the damage, after the car flew trunk first into the pillar. Midway through the footage, you can see still images of the car and if that doesn’t send chills down your spine, we don’t know what will.
