Brake checking someone is a very bad idea in an era where dashcams and smartphones are basically everywhere and make it very easy to prove intent.

Sure, in the past it was something insurance scammers used to do to make money, but nowadays the game has moved on. The driver of the Range Rover Sport in the following video shot in Denver, Colorado probably didn’t do this for insurance money but out of road rage.

Either way, their decision to cut the cammer off and brake check them was not the brightest idea. However, if you look closely from the beginning, you can see that the cammer slowed down at one point for no obvious reason, despite the fact that they were on the fast lane.

Presumably, that enraged the Range Rover driver who decided to teach the other driver a lesson. From the video description, which appears to have been written by the cammer, we learn some details that shed more light on the incident.

Guy was tailgating me the entire way from the intersection. Slowed down so he would just go around me and he decided to cut me off and brake check me. Gave me no room to actually stop which resulted in me rear-ending him. He was cited by DPD,” the video uploader posted.

If that’s really how things went down, we’re a bit puzzled by the cammer’s decision to slow down in the fast lane. Why didn’t they move to the right lane if they really wanted to let the Range Rover pass? Seems like yet another totally unnecessary road rage incident resulting in a crash that could have been avoided if both drivers remained cool.
