Dashcams are growing in popularity and it’s not hard to see why as they can be vital in proving who is at fault for an accident.

In the latest case, a dashcam caught an accident with a Ford Mustang whose driver apparently tried to flee the scene.

As you can see in the video, the driver of the dashcam-equipped vehicle is driving up a hill when a Mustang suddenly makes a left turn in front of them. The two cars collide and the driver of the Mustang quickly takes off.

The driver of the dashcam-equipped vehicle pauses for a few seconds and then decides to chase after the Mustang. This doesn’t go brilliantly as they hit the curb while trying to turn down the same street as the Mustang.

After the driver reverses, the chase is on. However, it appears the Mustang driver had a change of heart as they pulled over to the side of the road. Three people get of the out car and inspect the damage which appears to be largely limited to the rear bumper.

What happened next remains unclear, but the driver of the dashcam-equipped vehicle apparently filed an insurance claim as the YouTube video is simply titled “Claim number: 002870795-015.”

The video should make this an open and shut case but, as some redditors pointed out, it’s possible drinking was involved.  In the clip, one of the passengers can be seen apparently emptying a can into the grass. Seconds later, someone inside the car throws a can out the window.
