Last month, the 401 highway in Ontario was turned into a demolition derby as the driver of a Honda Civic rammed into four vehicles and then fled the scene.

Caught on dashcam video, the incident is pretty alarming as the highway was packed with motorists on Valentine’s Day.

As you can see in the clip, everything appears normal until the 40 second mark. At that point, the Civic darts between two cars and ends up hitting the sedan in the left lane. Instead of stopping, the driver continues going and narrowly avoids rear-ending a Chevrolet Impala.

The Civic then returns to the left lane, where it hits a white car which pushes the vehicle into what appears to be a Kia Soul. The Civic then does a PIT maneuver which spins the Soul 180 degrees. The car then continues fleeing as a number of people pull over to check on the victims.

While the video ends there, the Civic driver was involved in a head-on collision with a Durham Region Transit bus a short time later. Police said first responders arrived on the scene within minutes and quickly attended to the driver of the Civic. However, the 28-year-old from Oshawa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thankfully, the bus was empty and its driver only received minor injuries. Following the crash, they were treated and released by a local hospital.

There’s no word on what caused the driver to act so bizarre, but at least no one was else was seriously injured.
