Grand Theft Auto’s fictional city of Los Santos is getting its own underground modified car scene. GTA Online’s Los Santos Tuners update launches on July 20, bringing dedicated tuner-based missions and races.

The big news is the LS Car Meet, which allows you to display your tricked-out rides in a giant warehouse and mingle with like minded gearheads without having to worry about being hassled by the police or hiding from psychopathic snipers with an unexplained vendetta against you.

Become an LS Car Meet Member and you’ll unlock a ‘Reputation’ progression that brings more benefits with each new level attained. There’s an underground test track where you can drive, drift and race, and there are new races that take place both in and out of the warehouse.

But just as interesting is the news that Rockstar Games is dropping a bunch of new tuner-themed cars into the GTA universe from make-believe brands Annis, Dinka, Übermacht and Vapid.

In total, 17 new cars will join GTA Online before the end of summer, including 10 at launch on July 20. Check out the pictures below and see how many you recognize.

Karin Futo GTX

Regular GTA players will be familiar with the Karin Futo, a clear copy of the 1980s Toyota AE86 liftback. This GTX version rips off the Sprinter Trueno version with the pop-up lights immortalized in street racing manga series Initial D.

Karin Calico GTF

Rockstar’s designers are calling this one the Karin Calico GTF, but is anyone else seeing the mid 1990s T200 Toyota Celica in that rear end?

Annis Euros

This new Annis Euros is a dead ringer for the Nissan 370Z, which makes sense given that there was already an Annis Euros in GTA that riffed on its 300ZX grandad.

Vapid Dominator GTT

Classic Ford fans will have no trouble recognizing the 1969 Mustang’s front end on this Vapid Dominator GTT.

Annis ZR350

The original ZR-350 featured back in GTA: San Andreas, but it returns as the Annis ZR350 for the Los Santos Tuners update, looking even more like an FD-generation Mazda RX-7 than ever.

Dinka RT3000

The badges says Dinka RT3000, but our brain says this is a Honda S2000 with a hardtop and an ankle-chopping front splitter.

Vulkar Warrener HKR

Cross a Datsun pickup with a first-generation Skyline GT-R front end and you get a Hakotora. Or in the GTA universe, a Vulkar Warrener HKR.

Obey Tailgater S

Audi no longer makes an RS4 sedan in the real world, but you can drive the next best thing in GTA if you get your hands on the Obey Tailgater S.

Dinka Jester RR

The original Dinka Jester was a homage to Honda/Acura’s NSX hybrid with a bit of BMW i8 thrown in for good measure, but the Jester RR’s designer’s clearly have a soft spot for the latest Toyota Supra.

Annis Remus

The gold wheels and blue paint on the rear quarters of this coupe have a distinctly Subaru Impreza vibe, but the car the Remus is really riffing on is the Nissan Silvia S13.

Did you recognize them all? Rockstar says there are seven new tuner cars still to come. Lets us know in the comments what you’re hoping they are.
