Subaru has announced the 2024 Forester will arrive at U.S. dealerships this fall and carry a base price of $26,895.

Costing $400 more than its predecessor, the model carries over virtually untouched. However, there are a handful of minor changes as the $30,095 Forester Premium now comes equipped with LED fog lights and a Crystal Black Silica rear spoiler. The latter can also be found on the Limited and Touring.

Speaking of the $33,775 Forester Limited, it now sports “black geometric-textured fog light covers.” Last but not least, the range-topping Touring has new dark chrome wing accents on the grille.

Interior updates are also minor as the rear grab handles now include coat hooks. More notably, the front center console trim has “changed from resin to simulated leather with contrast stitching on Base, Premium, and Limited trims.”

While it’s hard to get excited about fog lights and coat hooks, the entry-level Forester comes with LED headlights, remote keyless entry, and 17-inch steel wheels. The model also sports a tilt/telescoping steering column, automatic climate control, a four-speaker audio system, and a tiny 6.5-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The latter is so small that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 smartphone has a larger display, which spans 7.6 inches when unfolded.

On the bright side, Subaru gave the model a host of standard driver assistance systems including Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Pre-Collision Braking, and Pre-Collision Throttle Management. They’re joined by Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Lead Vehicle Start Alert, and High Beam Assist.

Higher-end trims are far more luxurious and the range-topping Touring boasts perforated leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and heated front and rear seats. The model also has a nine-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system and a larger 8-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation.

Regardless of which trim is selected, all Foresters are equipped with a 2.5-liter boxer engine that develops 182 hp (136 kW / 185 PS) and 176 lb-ft (238 Nm) of torque. It’s paired to a continuously variable transmission and a symmetrical all-wheel drive system with active torque vectoring.
