Dacia recorded a 9,9 percent increase in new car sales in the UK market last year, delivering 26,228 units compared to 23,862 in 2014, and contributing to the Renault Group UK’s sales record of 127,343 vehicles, a 17,4 percent increase year-over-year.

The Sandero and Sandero Stepway hatchbacks were in the top 10 best-selling five-door B-segment cars, according to figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

December was a successful month for UK’s new car sales, when 180,077 units were registered, marking an 8.4 percent increase. Plug-in hybrid volumes more than doubled, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, while electric vehicle deliveries saw a 50 percent increase.

The most popular car in the UK market last year was the Ford Fiesta, followed closely by one of its main competitors, the Vauxhall Corsa.
