Volvo’s XC90 is just one of the vehicles awarded with the Best-In-Class by Euro NCAP as the safety specialists released their finding in all segments.

The Swedish SUV achieved an impressive 97 percent for adult occupant protection and the maximum 100 percent for its safety assist systems, and was crowned “best” in the Large Off-Road category.

Mercedes’ compact GLC is the king in the Small Off-Road segment and it’s followed by the Large Family Car and Small Family Car winners, the Jaguar XE and the Infiniti Q30, respectively.

Euro NCAP has crowned the Honda Jazz as “best-in-class” in the Supermini category, while the safest large MPV in the Old Continent is the Ford Galaxy, followed by the Volkswagen Touran, in the Small MPV class.

Ending what has been a very busy year in terms of safety is the new generation of the Mazda MX-5, in the Roadster Sport category, which, surprisingly, is the only one in the list that does not have a five-star rating, but only four stars.
