One Of 99 Zagato-Designed Aston Martin DB AR1s Being Auctioned

| |

Italian design house and coachbuilder Zagato is rightfully regarded as one of the world's best, and in just under a month one of their finest creations will cross the auction block.

The Aston Martin DB AR1 was introduced at the 2003 Los Angeles Auto Show and gave US Zagato enthusiasts the opportunity to own one of the company's special models, as the DB7 Zagato Coupe wasn't available in the States.

Set to be sold by RM Sotheby's, the car in question is a 2003 example and one of just 99 units ever produced. This particular example was the 89th built and, despite being 13 years old, has been driven for just 700 miles.

The bodywork is in Tungsten Silver, the cabin is clad in Claret Red leather interior and it comes complete with the original umbrellas, seat covers, car cover, tonneau cover and owner's manual.

When new, the DB AR1 cost about $250,000, making it significantly more expensive than the Vanquish it shares its powertrain with.
