It’s not uncommon for car manufacturers to pay homage to their roots every now and then, creating machines that honor their heritage and history. Like Opel, for instance.

Following the successful world premiere of the Opel GT Concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March, Opel follows up with the second tribute to its glorious past, as it traces its roots to a sewing machine manufacturer founded by Adam Opel in 1862.

Described as purist, electrifying and uncompromising – just like the Opel GT sports car – the new gizmos are the German car maker’s gateway to the fashion business. Thanks to their sculptural design and German engineering, fashion moguls, designers and tailors will soon be able to enjoy high quality durability.

Opel says the sewing machine that will debut at the 2016 Paris Fashion Week will put all others into the shade. An original April Fool’s Day joke, that one…
