Toyota Motor Sales USA has recently announced two separate recalls for nearly 17,000 vehicles.

The first campaign covers a total of 12,400 units of the Lexus ES 350, 4,170 Toyota RAV4 and 90 Lexus RX 350, all of them from the 2016 MY, equipped with a Brake Actuator assembly that enables enhanced brake functions, including ABS, Traction Control (TC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).

Due to a possible damaged component, during manufacturing, the actuator is prevented from operating properly, which might led to a loss of vehicle stability control, increasing the risk of a crash. Toyota will notify owners of the affected vehicles by first class mail and its dealers will inspect the serial number of the Brake Actuator and replace those assembled during a specific period.

The second recall is aimed towards the 2016 Toyota Sienna, as 230 vehicles may be equipped with incorrect front seatbelt height adjuster assemblies, that could separate in a severe crash. If this happens, then the seatbelt will not properly restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury.

Owners will be notified by first class mail and the dealers will replace the height adjusters with new ones, free of charge.
