Nowadays, rounding up ~1200 metric horsepower is relatively easy. You could do it with one supercar, or with a pair of tuned BMWs; just like G-Power did.

When every other tuner throws performance figures like it’s nothing, the 431ps (425hp), 3.0-litre straight-six Bavarian twins – the M3 and the M4 – seem relatively decent. Don’t get us wrong, 431ps is a lot, beyond the average driver’s requirements, but the figure fades away in comparison to G-Power’s latest aftermarket exercise.

Through the use of its Bi-Tronik 2 V3 module with bespoke control parameters the German tuner squeezed 600ps (592hp) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque from each vehicle. Since G-Power’s 600ps (592hp) goal was well beyond the capabilities of the vehicles’ stock components, the turbochargers were replaced with larger, lighter units, which reduce inertia and improve throttle response. The new units also reduce exhaust gas, allowing higher boost pressure and, subsequently, more grunt.

Contributing to the final power output are larger exhaust downpipes (without cats) and a lightweight titanium exhaust system with carbon-fiber encased tailpipes which reduce back-pressure.

All these mods translate into a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of 3.7 seconds (0.5 seconds faster than stock), and a limited top speed of just over 320 km/h (198 mph). Moreover, in order to cope with the extra oomph, the vehicles received a fully adjustable GM4-RS coil-over suspension, aerodynamic carbon fiber components (designed to reduce lift), and a set of 21-inch G-Power Hurricane RR lightweight, forged wheels.
