A 19-year-old has been arrested in Oklahoma City after his involvement in a high speed police chase where he purportedly hit 208 mph (334 km/h) in a 2011 Ford Mustang.

On November 14, Hector Fraire was traveling on the Kilpatrikc Turnpike and was initially clocked by police doing 84 mph (135 km/h). After being chased by a patrol car, the teenager sped up and was clocked at 176 mph (283 km/h).

Remarkably, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Capt. Paul Timmons told Fox25 that Fraire was eventually recorded at 208 mph during the pursuit.

“200 miles an hour … That is extremely fast,” Timmons said.” The guy was trying to get away from the trooper. Apparently he had turned off his headlights hoping to lose the trooper. It just so happened to be a Canadian County deputy sitting close to the area”.

It isn’t clear just how the 2011 Mustang managed to reach such supercar-rivalling speeds, but it either had some mind-boggling performance modifications or someone’s calculations are off.

Ultimately, the teen was pulled over into a parking lot and arrested for reckless driving and attempting to elude.
