The launch of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler is approaching, and when the new model debuts, it will bring with it a refreshed design and a selection of new engine options.

Up until this point, the new Wrangler has only been spied disguised in camouflage. Nevertheless, the crew at JL Wrangler Forums have decided to render how the new range may look based on recent prototypes and insider tips.

Unsurprisingly, the design of the new car won’t change dramatically from the current model. Among the anticipated changes will be a restyled 7-slat grille with an obvious kink in it and a more raked windshield. It is thought that these styling changes will be implemented in an effort to improve the model’s aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.

Other changes set to adorn the new Wrangler will be slightly different headlights and new side markers, both designed to complement the slightly sleeker front end. Additionally, the new Wrangler will receive a new 3-piece roof design with full-width removable panels, adding some versatility to all available body styles.

The next-gen Wrangler will also bring with it an long-awaited pickup truck version set to have four doors. Powertrains for the new model will include the Pentastar V6, a turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter diesel. All will be paired with an eight-speed transmission.
