If it’s the last Thursday of November, then a. time really flies, and b. it’s Thanksgiving day, a traditional US holiday – which turkeys don’t enjoy much, but that’s what the custom demands…

Talking of turkeys, there’ve been not a few this past 11 months, so it’s really hard to choose, but we gave it a shot anyway with five incidents that were pretty funny; plus, no one was hurt in any way.

There was one driver in Crimea, for example, who was in such a hurry to get out of the ferry he drove off before it actually reached the dock and, inadvertently, ended up in the sea. Good thing he was pulled out fast, then.

A Canadian teenager, on the other hand, couldn’t resist taking his mom’s Porsche Cayenne out for a drive. No problem with that, only he didn’t hold a driving license and, to make things worse, unsuccessfully tried to fit the luxury SUV into a very tight space, damaging it quite badly in the process. And did we mention he also hit another parked car? Oh yes he did.

Failed parking incident number two: a woman trying to parallel park a Mercedes next to a 458 Speciale, only to end up with Der Bnz (yep, the actual plate) sitting on top the Ferrari’s hood and front bumper.

Having won a Concours d’Dlegance competition was small consolation to the owner of this Packard Super Eight Convertible Sedan. That’s because the people who subsequently tried to move it around didn’t make sure the parking brake was on, so the pre-war classic ended, despite their best efforts, into the nearby lake.

The turkey prize, however, goes to the teenagers who attempted to steal three Hellcats from a Kansas City dealership. While they did get away with the cars, the 707 HP output obviously was too much for them to handle and they didn’t go far. In fact, less than a mile was all they could muster before crashing them, with two of the cars being confirmed as write-offs. Don’t do the crime if you… well, you know the rest.

The Carscoops team wishes each and every one of you a Merry Thanksgiving!
