BMW is said to have suspended talks with Daimler about future collaborations after it emerged its rival tipped authorities off to an alleged cartel.

Citing industry sources, local newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung reports that Daimler blew the whistle on an alleged cartel between it, Volkswagen, BMW, Audi and Porsche involving collusion on prices and select technologies, including AdBlue diesel treatments.

Reuters reports that following this development, top management at BMW has pulled back on its partnership with Daimler that included creating charging sites and the purchasing of certain auto parts.

Neither BMW or Daimler have agreed to comment but European Union and German antitrust regulators have already confirmed that investigations into alleged collusion between Germany’s leading automakers is underway.
