President Donald Trump says a foreign-owned automaker will soon announce its intention to building five factories in the United States.

During a speech about tax reform to an audience in Indianapolis, Trump made the statement without offering details about the carmaker involved, The Detroit News reports.

“I just left the United Nations last week and I was told by one of the most powerful leaders of the world that they are going to be announcing in the not too distant future five major factories in the United States, between increasing and new, five.

“You’ll be hearing about that very soon. I promised I wouldn’t say who. I’ll keep my word, OK. It happens to be in the automobile industry,” Trump said.

Even before taking office in January, Trump pledged to help the U.S. manufacturing sector by promising to hit large automakers with import taxes if they choose to leave the U.S. in favor of cheaper production alternatives internationally.

Among the most significant announcements from carmakers regarding U.S. production facilities this year include Toyota and Mazda who confirmed a $1.6 billion joint assembly plant will be opened in 2021. Additionally, Volvo will spend $1 billion expanding its plant in South Carolina and Daimler will invest $1 billion at its Alabama factory to build electric vehicles.
