New Lamborghini Aventador S May Not Be The Most Engaging But Who Cares

If you want a supercar that does everything right, then the new Lamborghini Aventador S clearly isn’t for you.

There was a time when supercars meant to be these crazy, super-impractical devices designed to look awesome and go immensely fast but they also had to make you feel miserable with their zero visibility, their huge footprint and their tendency to break down every 60 miles or so but that was part of the supercar experience.

Nowadays supercars are faster than ever, come in all sorts of sizes and are dead easy to use on an everyday-basis if you feel like it. The intimidation factor is fading away with the same speed supercar companies increase their horsepower figures and drop their acceleration figures.

In this era, it’s refreshing to see Lamborghini still using the same recipe for its latest big daddy, the Aventador S, not caring about making it more easy to live with. It still is wide as a bus and so low that barely registers above 1.1m and it still has a huge 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 with 740hp and a thunderous sountrack as displayed in Autocar’s latest video review.

Sure, adding a rear-wheel steering system helps with the handling while the extra 40hp is always good news. The single-clutch transmission is perhaps the only real drawback but the most important stuff is that if you want a proper supercar experience for under a million bucks, you can’t find a better one than the Lamborghini Aventador S.
