You’re Just $658k Away From This Original-Owner, 8k-Mile BMW M1

BMW didn’t make a lot of M1s and that’s why every time an example shows up in the market, we tend to take notice.

This 1981 example is according to the seller one of the 58 M1s finished in Dark Blue over a black interior and has covered just 8,000 miles since new.

It’s also one of the last M1s to come out of the production line, with BMW only making 453 of these. BMW’s first and truest supercar was penned by Giugiaro and partially developed by Lamborghini.

Power came from the 3.5-liter M88/1 straight-six engine producing 275hp in the road versions. The car’s original owner was reportedly a journalist who took the car with him across the world during his career, including South Africa, New Zealand, Mexico, Arizona and Miami, which is where the car is located now.

This BMW M1 remains in an all-original, unrestored condition, with the only aftermarket feature being the period-correct audio speakers from Blaupunkt. The car also comes with a full history, including books, tools, car show plackards, old registration stickers and the original Pirelli P7 tires among other.

As you might have already guessed, all this originality will not come cheap; the sticker price for this beautiful M1 is currently set at $658,000 on Ebay. Is it worth it?
