The facelifted BMW 5-Series and 6-Series Gran Turismo will premiere on May 27 at an event in Korea.
News of the unveiling was confirmed by BMW Korea’s official Instagram page. One teaser image showcases the refreshed front fascia of a camouflaged prototype while the second video focuses on the re-shaped LED daytime running lights of the duo.
Unfortunately for BMW, leaked photos of the facelifted 5-Series emerged online at the start of this month. Those images revealed the car will get a slightly larger kidney grille, sharper headlights, and new taillights.

These new headlights are arguably the single most significant alteration made and drastically change the overall look of the car, making it appear much more aggressive and sporty. We’ve yet to see any leaked photos of the new BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo, but spy shots have indicated it will receive the same enlarged grilles as the 5-Series along with similar headlights.
The BMW 5-Series and 6-Series Gran Turismo facelift will be applied to all variants, including the flagship M5 sedan. It is unclear if BMW’s engineers will work to extract more power from the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, but even if they don’t, the standard 592 HP (600 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) is more than most drivers can handle. Those after a little more power will be able to opt for the M5 Competition that has 617 HP (625 PS).
An exciting new M5 variant will also land as part of the facelift. Expected to be dubbed the BMW M5 CS, this model will have more aggressive front and rear bumpers, a trunk spoiler, enlarged air intakes, and a sharp rear diffuser. Horsepower is expected to increase and the super sedan will also go on a diet thanks to unique bucket seats, wheels, and a new exhaust.
