Cars today are safer than they’ve ever been. With that being said, even the safest vehicle can’t defy physics, which is what makes this wreck, in which a Honda Fit‘s driver escapes being crushed between two massive trucks, almost unbelievable.

The brief video starts off with the Honda sitting stationary on the road, its driver likely waiting for a traffic light, leaving ample distance between him and the truck in front. Unfortunately, that only got him so far, as another truck came from behind, ramming him forward into the truck he specifically tried to keep his distance from. But if that wasn’t enough, the truck from behind also kept moving forward, essentially sandwiching the car in between it and the truck in front. It’s unclear as to why the truck behind the car was barreling towards it, but that doesn’t change how much damage it inflicted upon the tiny Honda.

The car crumpled up like an empty tin can, but despite that, the driver was not only able to miraculously survive, but also move around. That could be due to the fact that the truck in front of him was a cement mixer, and the area under the mixing drum left him just enough space to fit into during the wreck. Had there been a normal semi truck in front of him, he might not have been so lucky. So yes, the man’s car may be totaled, but we’re certain he’d be more happy to have his body intact than his vehicle.
