We mean it when we say it’s always a pleasure to host scoop pictures from you, our readers, and we feel especially honored when CarScoopers like Andor I. from the picturesque city of Budapest in Hungary select our site to send in their very first spy shots.

The prototype spotted by Andor is the upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA compact sports sedan, or if you prefer, Stuttgart’s “baby” CLS with a smaller footprint, but also a much smaller price tag than the brand’s original four-door coupe.

The reason why the CLA is doing the rounds on Hungary’s roads is because Mercedes has built a new factory in the city of Kecskemét, located approximately 80 km or 50 miles from the outskirts of Budapest.

The €800 million facility began manufacturing the new B-Class in March this year and will also build the CLA, which could make its first public appearance as early as the 2013 Detroit Motor Show in mid-January before it goes on sale later in the year.

The CLA is built on an extended platform of the new and quite successful A-Class hatchback offering a similar engine lineup of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines topped by an AMG model fitted with a 350-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo and AWD.

“Köszönöm” Andor I. for the scoop!
