Caterham is reshuffling its lineup with the launch of three new variants for the Seven model in the UK: the 270, 360 and 420. With this announcement, the brand’s lineup has been restructured to five core models, all of which are available with new ‘S’ and ‘R’ equipment packs.

Already on sale in the UK, the Seven 270, 360 and 480 sit between the existing range extremes – the entry-level Seven 160 and the supercharged 620R, the most powerful production Seven ever built.

The Caterham Seven 270 is powered by the latest-generation 1.6-liter Ford Sigma engine with variable-valve timing technology, which offers a 10hp power upgrade over the outgoing Roadsport 125.

At the middle of the range there’s the Seven 360, which is powered by the same 2.0-liter Ford Duratec power unit as Caterham’s R300 race cars. Finally, the Seven 420, is also powered by the 2.0-liter Ford Duratec with a dry sump and modifications which offer 210hp.

Caterham has also introduced two new equipment packages, which are available on all models. The new ‘S’ and ‘R’ packs include specially-tailored trim and equipment packages that are said to suit both road and track drivers.

The ‘S’ pack is aimed towards the casual road driver and includes comforts such as a fully-carpeted cockpit, full windscreen, hood and side screens and leather seats. As for the ‘R’ pack, it has a more track-focused nature and features a limited-slip differential, sports suspension and a four-point race harness.

Also included in the ‘R’ pack are 15-inch Orcus alloy wheels, which have been exclusively designed for Caterham and are 10 percent lighter than the outgoing 15-inch alloy wheel. Inside, there’s a unique ‘R’ rev-counter orientated to optimize it for use at high rpm.
