Being one of the most vibrant automotive celebrations of the year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is going to host all kinds of mythical racing machinery, new car debuts, F1 teams and some of the best motorsport heroes of the planet.

The Gerry Judah-designed central sculpted feature will be dedicated to Mazda this year, with the Japanese company to present for the first time in UK soil its all-new MX-5. Other UK debuts include the Ford Focus RS, the Ford GT and the updated Bentley Continentals, the GT Speed and the GT V8S.

No less than five F1 teams will be present as well, with Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren-Honda, Williams and Red Bull to participate in the biggest F1 paddock Goodwood ever hosted. The monstrous 28-litre Fiat S76 will have its first public run in 101 years and will be a part of a new category fittingly called ‘Edwardian Leviathans’.

This year’s Supercar Run will include McLaren’s track-only P1 GTR and Koenigsegg’s insane 1500hp Regera to be timed on the 1.16-mile hillclimb. Other attractions include Casey Stoner, Freddie Spencer and Kenny Roberts riding up the hill with Valentino Rossi promising to drive some cars as well.

The Festival of Speed will also celebrate the careers of Derek Bell and Gilles Villeneuve while seven Mercedes 300 SLRs will be on show, marking the 60th anniversary of Sir Stirling Moss’s victory at the 1955 Mille Miglia.

The Festival of Speed will be held between June 25-28 and the theme will be ‘Flat-Out and Fearless: Racing on the Edge’, a suitable theatrical title for the world’s most prestigious motoring party.
