There are all sorts of car wraps out there, but leather has to be one of the most peculiar materials to cover a car’s bodywork with. Only velvet can compete with it.

We’re used to seeing odd car wraps from eccentric owners, but in the case of this Skoda Superb completely wrapped in leather the Czech automaker was directly involved.

According to Contract Hire and Leasing website, Jozef Kaban, Skoda’s Chief of Exterior Design, tasked students from Florence University in Italy to give the brand’s flagship sedan a unique exterior treatment by incorporating influences from the region.

Since Florence is renowned for its leather and the city hosts world famous fashion brands such as Gucci and Roberto Cavalli, luxury leather was the material chosen for the project. The students picked brown leather for the Superb’s bodywork and we have to admit that the result is not bad at all. The project only involved the exterior, so the cabin remained unchanged.

The leather-wrapped Skoda Superb is currently in storage at the carmaker’s headquarters in Mlada Boleslav, the Czech Republic. According to a Skoda spokesperson, the automaker has no plans to showcase it officially.
