Hyundai’s facelifted Santa Fe was unveiled for the first time in public the at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new Santa Fe adopts the latest design elements of the brand and brings Hyundai’s biggest SUV in Europe up to date with the Tucson. That means a redesigned front bumper with new LED daytime running lights and fog lamps, a new hexagonal grille, a set of revised light-units all around and a rectangular exhaust among others.

The cabin has gained new materials and subtle design elements to improve the quality, while Hyundai has added the latest version of its infotainment system which features a slightly bigger screen. The second row of sliding seats now benefits from an extra 15mm of travel, which means more space.

The Korean SUV flagship now features an array of new safety systems, including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Assist, High Beam Assist, Around View Monitor which offers a 360-degree view out of the car and a new Smart Parking Assist system.

Customers can choose between a 188PS 2.4-litre GDI petrol engine, a 150PS 2.0-litre CRDi diesel and a 200PS 2.2-litre CRDi diesel, with a choice of either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. Depending on the market, the new Santa Fe will be available in front- and all-wheel drive versions.
