LaFerrari owners, you might want to pay attention here, because the company that invited you to purchase their latest hypercar has something interesting up for grabs.

Ferrari North Europe is currently holding an auction in the UK for the personalized license plate “V12 LAF” that’s obviously an excellent choice to match the 963 HP LaFerrari.

Although the words “Ferrari” and “auction” usually mean exorbitant prices for rare sports cars, the company is actually doing this for a good purpose, as the proceeds will go to the Henry Surtees Foundation for its charitable work.

The foundation is named after Henry Surtees, the late son of the oldest surviving Formula 1 and 500cc/MotoGP champion, John Surtees who, to this day, remains the only man to ever win a world championship on both two and four wheels.

His sole F1 title came in 1964 with Ferrari, so the association with Scuderia is natural. “We are truly honored that Ferrari has chosen to donate the proceeds of this auction to the Henry Surtees Foundation”, said Surtees.

“The work we are doing is absolutely critical to help save the lives and provide emergency support for those who sustain serious head injuries and I know that Henry would have been very proud to hear of Ferrari’s continued association with the Surtees family name, more than 50 years after I drove for Il Commendatore”, he added.

Interested parties have until November 30 to place their bids for the unique registration plate – and remember, the cheque will be for a good cause.
