Citroen continues the development of the next generation C3 Picasso in warmer climates, with our spies spotting them during some testing in Southern Europe.

We already know that the new C3 Picasso will share the same underpinnings with the 2017 Opel Meriva, and that both models will ditch their minivan bodystyle for the more popular crossover one.

Despite their close relation, which will lead into most of the body panels to be common, the Citroen C3 Picasso will not only wear its own distinctive front end but also use PSA’s powertrains as well.

Design-wise, the new C3 Picasso will employ a short hood and the company’s newfound pattern with four lighting elements. The rear end will feature a set of horizontal taillights positioned close to the rear screen, reminding us a lot of what Peugeot has done with the recently revealed 3008.

Citroen is expected to reveal the final production model in Paris Motor Show this October, alongside the new C3 supermini.
