Audi’s All-New Q5 SUV Tries An RS Suit For Size

Thanks to its lighter architecture, the all-new Audi Q5 should be able to outperform the previous generation in pretty much everything related to driving dynamics.

Still, be that as it may, there’s no substitute for raw power, and that’s exactly what’s needed here since the engines Audi confirmed thus far for the new Q5 aren’t exactly the “knee-buckling” types.

Of course, the old Q5 did a solid job in SQ5 form, putting down 340 PS and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque while getting from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.1 seconds.

The RS Q5 however is rumored to pack no fewer than 450 PS and hit the 100 km/h (62 mph) marker in way under 5 seconds, while possibly looking just as sporty and aggressive as it does here in this rendering by X-Tomi.

Visually, this car has obviously been lowered, gained larger wheels, new bumpers and grille, plus a number of additional black elements that help set it apart from the lesser versions that will be available at launch.

Ugh, that looks terrible. It’s even worse than the Q5 itself. I don’t even care if I’m in the minority on this.

      Rahnn Stahhpp!

I like it. Looks good, in a good way.

I think it looks… normal!! I mean the RS fits perfectly on it and blends in with the other RS’s normally..

I think they’re will be no Audi RS Q5 for some reasons related to Porsche :
    – 1 : the current Macan Turbo has an on old 3.6 liter 400 hp (440 with a performance option).
    – 2 : the new Panamera 4S has a new 2.9 liter 440 hp. Which will be enhance up to 480-500 hp for Audi RS4 and RS5
    – 3 : so for the a next Macan Turbo they’ve just got to take the 2.9 liter 440 hp from the Panamera 4S
    – 4 : Mercedes AMG GLC 63 S (510 hp), Jaguar F-Pace SVR (495 hp) and BMW X3 M (500 hp) are coming so…
    – 5 : So Porsche will take the work made for the RS4 and RS5 (480-500 hp) and put into a Macan Turbo S.
    – 6 : And as we’ve seen it the upper category, there is no RS Q7 which could kill the sales of the Cayenne Turbo, so they’ll do the same on the compact segment letting Audi with some diesel high-torqued “sport SUV” called SQ5 and SQ7.
    – 7 : But for the RS4 and RS5 that’s okay because Porsche had no equivalent models to that.
    – 8 : The SQ5 is already confirmed with a power a little bit under 400 hp, maybe 385 hp as we’ve seen it on the RS5 TDI concept.

Again that’s just my theory despite that I prefer Audi interiors and design over than Porsche if we talk about cars with the same platform and engines.
