See this Italdesign ZeroUno? It looks just like the one unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this past March, right? Only it isn’t.

What you’re looking at is indeed a ZeroUno, and it’s been done up in the exact same livery and configuration as the Geneva show car. But that model is apparently staying in the carrozzeria’s hands, while this one has now been delivered to its owner.

The owner, who we could only describe as “fortunate” (in every sense of the term), is Steven Lismont. The Belgian entrepreneur has steered a number of automotive operations, including CarsOnTheWeb and Carconnex. Evidently business has been good, because each of the five ZeroUnos to be produced is said to be worth several million.

Lismont picked up the car at Italdesign‘s headquarters in Moncalier, receiving it directly from the company’s CEO Jörg Astalosch. After driving it for about a hundred kilometers around nearby Turin, Lismont was impressed with its usability.

“Based on same experience I wasn’t expecting such a high-performance vehicle to be so easy and pleasant to drive,” said Lismont. “It’s a car that provides amazing sensations during sporty driving, but it’s also suitable for everyday use. This combination of craftsmanship, sportiness and every day usability makes the Zerouno unique.”

The question on our mind, after Italdesign already built the second example, is why Lismont didn’t already take delivery of the identical show car. Maybe the original was somehow damaged before it could be delivered. Maybe that the show car was never meant to be delivered to a private customer. Or maybe Italdesign decided it wanted to keep the first one, and offered to build Lismont another identical to the one he saw in Geneva.

In the end, very few people may know what exactly went down, and how. But we doubt it’ll matter in the long run now that the customer has the keys in hand.
