Scoop: Facelifted Audi TT-RS Will Not Mess With A Winning Formula

Audi is working on the mid-life update of the TT, with the first spy shots showing a TT-RS roadster being tested on public roads.

You wouldn’t expect Audi to mess too much with the successful design of the current TT and you would be right: the small patches of camo tape around the car lead us to believe that Audi will most certainly keep the visual changes to a minimum.

Expect to see new lighting signatures on lights all around in order to bring the TT in line with Audi’s latest products, as well as subtle tweaks and changes on body parts like the front grille, side sills and bumpers.

Inside, the updated TT will also receive some updates, with Audi to use the latest version of their Virtual Cockpit along with the latest infotainment features, as well as new trim options and colors.

The engine range will remain more or less the same, with the range-topping RS version keeping the characteristic 2.5-liter five-pot unit which in the current models produces 395hp (400PS) and 354lb-ft (480Nm) of peak torque.

The facelifted range of the Audi TT is expected to debut in 2018, so stay tuned for more info in the coming months.

Audi is almost worse than Porsche when it comes to Evolutionary revisions. I remember another company that was like this 25 years ago… Honda. And it came back to bite them in the butt. Now they over compensate for being so conservative all of those years and went overboard with their designs. Mercedes and Mazda has found a nice medium between evolution and revolution.

      what a lame opinion….

        Triggered much?

    • Moveon Libtards

      Exactly! Spot on analysis.

Honda is just stupid now trying to be “cool.”

  • lagunas3ca

If there was ever an Audi that deserved the fake exhaust, especially over the big bore RS one, this would surely be it, as it looks like it’s weighing down the rear.

  • WTF

The most pointless car the VW Group makes a sports car based on an economy car that costs as much as Real Sports cars and Audis own A5 and S5 except it has less power a useless rear seat and not much cargo room why this thing exists is beyond me.

    • botornot387

Obviously you’ve never driven one or been in one and that’s what you can’t understand. An “economy” car that in fact beats the performance of the upcoming and more expensive RS5. To each their own, but you’re underestimating the potential and literal prowess of this car. In fact I’d argue this might be one of the best models Audi has produced in years. Also they don’t produce many and they are routinely sold out.

Because there are always idiots in this world.

what about chassis upgrades, all the reviews say there is a lot to be desired as far as handling goes. meaning, they should improve.

This category of cars lost their way. The Z3, Miata and Boxster were terrific examples of the roadster done right.

This car just doesn’t look or feel like a roadster. It feels more like a small car that’s trying to compete with bigger sports cars and it shouldn’t. That’s why the Miata is so accepted and the Subaru BRZ is despised. Nobody is trying to get 300 hp out of a Miata and you can tell by the people that drive them. Miata drivers don’t even attempt to race anyone on the streets, where as BRZ and FT-86 drivers fart around the city like they are driving a mini GTR.

      • Six_Tymes

why reply to my statement? are you OK?

  • Moveon Libtards

    Because sheep will buy them.
