Having tuned the A45 S to a jaw-dropping 525 PS (518 HP / 386 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque last year, Posaidon has now launched a two-stage upgrade for the Mercedes-AMG A35.

The base offering includes a software optimization, lifting the output of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine from 306 PS (302 HP / 225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) to 355 PS (350 HP / 261 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft).

According to the tuner, the 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time has dropped from 4.7 to 4.3 seconds and top speed has gone up by 30 km/h (19 mph) to 280 km/h (174 mph). A power box is offered as an alternative to the re-tuned ECU, and with it, the engine produces 355 PS (350 HP / 261 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft).

The most exciting proposal for the A35 from Posaidon is the so-called RS 400 kit, which, apart from the software upgrade, includes an improved turbocharger. As its name suggests, it unlocks 400 PS (394 HP / 294 kW) and even more torque at 550 Nm (406 lb-ft), which makes it 13 PS (13 HP / 10 kW) and 70 Nm (52 lb-ft) more powerful than the base A45. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint is completed in an identical 4.0 seconds, and top speed has increased to 295 km/h (183 mph).

By comparison, the A45 S, which is the true hot hatch king, has 421 PS (415 HP / 310 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft), and is capable of hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds, en route to a maximum speed of 270 km/h (168 mph).

Posaidon’s upgrades are also available for other Mercedes-AMG models using the same engine, such as the CLA 35, GLA 35 and GLB 35.
