The world of limousines is becoming more and more populated by SUVs, so a Cadillac XT6 limo actually isn’t that surprising. So how do you stand out? With a trunk, of course.

Combining the design of an old-school stretch limo based on a Town Car with the height advantages and size of an SUV, this XT6 Presidential Limousine by S&S Coach Company certainly stands out.

Built for Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services of Lima, Ohio, this limo is said to be more than big enough for the 6’4″ funeral director.

This is hardly the first betrunked SUV (remember the Maybach concept from a few years back?) but most automakers are opting for coupe lines instead. As for the “Presidential” moniker, it might be a nod to the President’s tank of a limo.

It’s also interesting to note how much of a challenge adding a trunk to a vehicle with a hatch still is. For years, automakers have been adding slightly out-of-place trunks on their small hatchbacks to suit American tastes. It is a challenge, though, that some automakers, like Audi with the A3 sedan, are getting pretty good at.

Anyway, as far as this XT6 Presidential Limousine is concerned, its configuration does solve the problem that some stretch limos based on the likes of a Lincoln Town Car had. There’s not really a dignified way to scoot from the back door into the bowels of a low-snug limousine to sit down, but with six doors, three rows of seats, and ample headroom, getting in and out of it should be a snap.
