There seems to be a holiday for just about everything and that includes World EV Day.

The celebration kicks off on September 9th and Nissan will mark the occasion by unveiling an electric van.

Shown in a short teaser video, the commercial van appears to be an all-new model as it features a modern design with slender headlights and what appears to be a fully enclosed grille. We can also see an angular windscreen, a relatively flat roof and what appears to be a sizable greenhouse.

While the teaser isn’t very revealing, Nissan isn’t a stranger to electric commercial vans as the e-NV200 was launched in Europe in 2014. More recently, in 2018, the company introduced an upgraded variant with a 40 kWh battery which powers an electric motor that produces 108 hp (80 kW / 109 PS) and 187 lb-ft (254 Nm) of torque. This setup enables the van to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 14 seconds, hit a top speed of 76 mph (122 km/h) and have a WLTP combined range of 124 miles (200 km).

Little is known about the new van at this point, but Nissan could introduce a version of the Renault Kangoo as the company is part of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance. The Kangoo was unveiled earlier this year and will offer an electric variant that features a 44 kWh battery and an electric motor that produces 101 hp (75 kW / 102 PS) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque. The model is also slated to have a range of 165 miles (265 km) in the WLTP cycle.
