XPeng is one of China’s more interesting automakers and that’s set to continue thanks to the all-new G9.

Six different variants will be available and rear-wheel drive models will have an electric motor that produces 308 hp (230 kW / 313 PS) and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque. This will enable them to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.4 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h). Models equipped with the Standard battery can travel 354 miles (570 km) in the CLTC cycle, while the Long Range variant increases that distance to 436 miles (702 km).

Buyers looking for increased performance and traction can opt for one of the three all-wheel drive variants. They have a dual motor powertrain that gives them a combined output of 543 hp (405 kW / 551 PS) and 529 lb-ft (717 Nm) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time falls to 3.9 seconds, but the top speed remains unchanged at 124 mph (200 km/h). The all-wheel drive variants also split the difference in terms of range as all three can travel 404 miles (650 km) on a single charge.

Besides offering good performance, the G9 has 800V charging technology and this makes it the “world’s fastest-charging mass-production SUV.” According to the automaker, 480 kW supercharging stations can give the crossover up to 124 miles (200 km) of range in as little as five minutes. That’s blazingly fast and it means the battery can go from a 10–80% charge in a mere 15 minutes.

Since we’ve previously covered the G9’s exterior design, we’ll simply mention the model measures 192.6 inches (4,891 mm) long, 76.3 inches (1,937 mm) wide, and 66.1 inches (1,680 mm) tall.

Moving into the cabin, buyers will find a small digital instrument cluster and two 15-inch displays that have an “interactive 3D user interface based on the Unity3D engine.” Buyers will also find an advanced voice assistant that can respond in milliseconds, control over 600 vehicle functions, and understand “successive instructions from different passengers without needing to be constantly reactivated.”

The five-seater holds 23.3 cubic feet (660 liters) of luggage, but that can be expanded to 55.7 cubic feet (1,576 liters) by folding the rear seats down. Other highlights include a 28 speaker audio system and an “immersive 5D experience that includes seat vibrations, changes to the ambient lighting, adjustable air conditioning, and customized fragrances when watching a film, listening to music, or simply relaxing.”

Speaking of tech, the G9 is equipped with a second-generation advanced driver assistance system as well as dual Nvidia Drive Orin chips that deliver 508 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of computing performance. The model also sports 31 sensors, a forward facing camera, and dual LiDAR sensors.

Pricing starts at ¥309,900 ($43,963 / £38,859 / €44,535) and climbs to ¥469,900 ($66,661 / £58,922 / €67,528) for the range-topping Launch Edition. Chinese deliveries are slated to begin in October and XPeng reiterated the G9 has been “purposefully designed” for international sales.
