2023 marks a new year with a lot of new and exciting cars on the way. At the same time, we’ve seen a lot of cars languishing around despite lax sales. We sincerely thought that you’d all pick those types of cars when we asked which cars should die in 2023. It turns out that some newer ones are on your chopping block too.

First up let’s talk brands because some of you weren’t content to cull a single model. No, you wanted the entire brand to die and that’s understandable. We even called out Mitsubishi as a brand that just might need to go all together and you lot agreed.

You also think that Buick, Chrysler, and Infiniti could be done away with. Would any of us really miss those brands? In fact, if we could make a trade, like Joseph Osso suggested, and get Pontiac back in the deal, I think most of us would sign up for it.

Ben suggested the Nissan Titan and got nothing but upvotes on his comment. As he puts it, “This truck failed on so many different levels that it’s hard to find the silver lining.” Take a quick look at the Titan lineup and it’s easy to see part of the problem. It doesn’t have any of the niche trim levels that other brands do and it’s on an incredibly old platform.

If there’s something on the list that really shocked us, it’s got to be the unanimous votes for the Hummer EV. Sure, it’s not actually very green when compared to most EVs but it looks cool and it’s quite capable. Despite that, a lot of you want it gone. 67Tomcat’s reasoning was “Come on, it’s over 9,000 pounds and has no reason other than it’s massive and in your face.”

The one vehicle that got the most votes was the Ford EcoSport and that’s fitting because it’s already dead. Ford actually discontinued it in mid-2022. We guess it was so bad that most of us have put it out of our minds. Of course when folks describe the experience of a vehicle as “it rides like a beer can on wheels,” it’s no surprise that people didn’t buy it.
