Spy photographers have snapped the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster undergoing testing near the Nürburgring.

Dressed in eye-catching camouflage, the drop top closely echoes the current model but features a more traditional front end. This is a welcome change as there’s a new front bumper and a ‘right-sized’ grille. They’re joined by a ventilated hood as well as new headlights that look far better than their predecessors.

The rest of the design appears to carryover largely untouched, but we can see a ventilated rear bumper that echoes the one found on the limited edition V12 Vantage Roadster.

New Aston Martin Vantage Roadster Shows How Small Changes Can Make A Big Difference

We haven’t gotten a good look inside yet, but the model may take some cues from the DB12. That remains to be seen, but we wouldn’t be surprised to find a digital instrument cluster, a modern infotainment system, and updated switchgear.

The changes should continue under the hood as we can expect an improvement over today’s model, which uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 developing 503 hp (375 kW / 510 PS) and 505 lb-ft (685 Nm) of torque. It enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 195 mph (314 km/h).

It remains unclear how powerful the latest Vantage will be, but the F1 Edition has 527 hp (535 PS) while the Mercedes-AMG SL63 boasts 577 hp (430 kW / 585 PS). Regardless of the final numbers, the V8 will eventually be joined by a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
