- SEMA is still months away, but two builds are already teased.
- One Pathfinder gets a supercharged V6 and track-focused mods.
- A second build goes the opposite way with serious off-road gear.
It barely feels like last year’s SEMA Show packed up its banners, and yet here we are with an early preview of two Nissans lined up for the 2026 edition this October. Both builds are being created by automotive tinkerer Nicholas Scherr, better known as Nismo Nick, and they are intended to mark the 40th anniversary of the long-running SUV.
For now, we are getting two teaser illustrations that appear to have been produced with a dose of algorithmic imagination, though Nick has also shared a few photos of the actual builds.
The first of the two builds is called the Trackfinder. As the name implies, this rugged, family-focused SUV is being heavily reworked with the unlikely goal of making it comfortable on a racetrack.

Nismo Nick will start by upgrading the 4.0-liter V6 with a Z1 Off-Road supercharger. Exact output figures have not been shared, but the builder promises “significantly increased power and performance.” A manual transmission is also planned.
In addition to the powertrain upgrades, the Pathfinder’s suspension will be overhauled by LOJ Conversions, significantly reducing ride height and aiming to improve handling. An early rendering released of the Nissan also shows it’ll sit on a set of aftermarket wheels.
A range of visual changes is also in the works for the boxy, track-curious SUV. The front end will borrow pieces from the D41 Nissan Frontier, and several lightweight carbon fiber parts are expected to appear throughout the build.
Off-Road Edition
The second model heading to SEMA is the Nissan Pathfinder Remix. It draws inspiration from the first-generation model and borrows several components from the D41 Frontier. The upgrades will come from Z1 Off-Road, Hammerhead Armor, and NISMO, all aimed at giving the SUV far more serious off-road ability.
We can see it’ll get a new front end with a winch, an aftermarket hood, and benefit from significantly more ground clearance. A snorkel will be added, as well as LED spotlights, rock sliders, and a roof rack. There’s no word on what will power it, but a side livery reading ‘SE-V8’ suggests it could be V8-swapped.
From the early preview, it looks set to receive a redesigned front end with an integrated winch, plus an aftermarket hood and noticeably increased ground clearance. A snorkel is also on the list, along with LED spotlights, rock sliders, and a roof rack.
While Nick has yet to share specific powertrain details, the side livery reading “SE-V8” effectively confirms that a V8 swap is part of the plan.
