• Damd turns the five-door Jimny into a retro Italian off-roader.
  • The Armata wears a Lancia-style nose and off-road upgrades.
  • Body kit includes flared arches, roof rack, and custom trim.

The Suzuki Jimny has become something of a cult canvas for tuners, with countless conversions building on its boxy shape and straightforward design. Unsurprisingly, the five-door version has followed the same path. The latest reinterpretation comes from Damd, which brings a dose of Italian inspiration to the famously Japanese off-roader.

Italy isn’t known for its off-roaders. Outside the plucky Fiat Panda 4×4 and the military-rooted Fiat Oltre concept, the list is short. Damd seems keen to fill that gap. With its new Armata build, the company imagines a mini Italian counterpart to the likes of the Mercedes G-Class and Land Rover Defender.

Reimagining the Jimny, Italian Style

While the overall body of the Jimny remains intact, a Lancia-style front end and a handful of off-road tweaks give the model a new attitude.

The round quad headlights and grille come straight from Damd’s existing Little D kit, which gives the three-door Jimny a rally-inspired look reminiscent of the Lancia Delta Integrale. But this time around, the sporty bumpers, flared arches, and spoiler are dropped in favor of a more rugged aesthetic.

The yellow fog lights have been moved higher, while the custom bumper has a metal finish and an integrated skid plate. The Armata also features a roof-mounted accessory with four amber-colored LEDs resembling position lights. Truck-style mirrors round out the visual shift.

The build rides on OZ Racing alloy wheels in a military-style finish, paired with proper off-road tires. Full technical details haven’t been released, but the stance suggests a suspension lift, especially when compared to the stock Jimny Nomad.

No engine changes are expected. Under the hood, the naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder still produces 103 hp (77 kW / 105 PS), powering all four wheels via either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. A traditional part-time 4WD system handles the traction.

Expanding Damd’s Jimny Lineup

Damd says the Armata is expected to become a full tuning kit for the Jimny Nomad by 2026. In the meantime, the roof light bar and truck mirrors will be available for order at the Tokyo Auto Salon.

The company already offers a range of visual kits for the five-door Jimny, including the Defender-inspired “Little D.” and the Mercedes-style “Little G.Advance” and “Little G.Traditional.” For now, the Little D remains exclusive to the three-door Jimny Sierra.
