• The updated Li Auto Mega has been pictured with white aero discs.
  • Li Auto’s new Mega has dual motors combining to deliver 554 hp.
  • The firm is also adopting a new fully active suspension system.

The Mega, built by Chinese car brand Li Auto, is one of the most intriguing luxury minivans on the market, looking more like a miniaturized bullet train than a typical people mover. After its first unveiling in late 2023 and an update in 2025, a second update for the Mega is in the works.

New images reveal the updated Li Auto Mega doesn’t look significantly different from the old model. In fact, most of the design appears identical. The most obvious change is to the wheels, which now have solid aero discs, further improving the EV’s already slippery aerodynamic properties.

On this particular Mega, the aero discs are painted white, but it’s understood customers will also have the option of more subtle black discs. Beyond the new wheels, it appears Li Auto has added some chrome to the MPV’s front end, while some minor styling tweaks have also been made at the rear.

No images of the new Mega’s interior have been shared by China’s Autohome, but it’s possible some minor software tweaks will also be made. On the technology front, it’s reported that the updated Mega will now include four separate LiDAR units and will also hit the market with rear-wheel steering, which seems like a no-brainer for an EV of this size.

What Else Is New?

Other updates are on the cards. EV reports the new Mega will ditch the dual-chamber air suspension system of the current model in favor of a fully active suspension setup that can directly apply force to the wheels, counteract roll through corners, and pitch under braking.

Powering the new model will be a larger 108 kWh CATL ternary lithium battery, up from 102.7 kWh, and the rear-mounted motor will now deliver 346 hp (258 kW), up from 328 hp (245 kW). The front motor is expected to produce the same 208 hp (155 kW), resulting in a combined 554 hp (413 kW). The MPV’s range is expected to sit at an impressive 441 miles (710 km) on the CLTC cycle. Li Auto will sell the new Mega in Home and Ultra configurations, priced at 529,800 yuan ($78,400) and 559,800 yuan ($82,900), respectively.
